Embraer and Portuguese aerospace company OGMA have completed the first scheduled 24-month maintenance inspection of a Hungarian Air Force C-390 Millennium.
The work was carried out at OGMA's facilities in Alverca, Portugal, marking the first major maintenance event for a Hungarian-operated C-390 since the type entered service with the country in 2024.

Hungary was the third customer to order the C-390 Millennium, signing for two aircraft in 2020. Both airlifters have now been delivered, with the second aircraft arriving in November 2025.
The maintenance visit comes shortly after Embraer signed a support agreement covering maintenance, logistics and technical assistance for the Hungarian fleet through its European services network.

The Hungarian Air Force has used the C-390 to replace part of its aging tactical airlift capability while also introducing new mission profiles. Hungary became the first operator of the type to receive aircraft equipped with a roll-on/roll-off intensive care unit, allowing the transport to perform advanced aeromedical evacuation missions.

The completion of the inspection also highlights OGMA's growing role in supporting the expanding European C-390 fleet. The Portuguese company, which is partly owned by Embraer, has increasingly become a maintenance and support hub for NATO operators of the aircraft.
Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Sweden have all selected the C-390, while several of those countries are either NATO members or close alliance partners. As deliveries increase, OGMA is expected to handle a larger share of maintenance activities for operators in Europe.
The C-390 Millennium is designed for transport missions including cargo and troop airlift, medical evacuation, humanitarian assistance, aerial refueling and airdrop operations.
