The first Embraer C-390 Millennium destined for the Czech Air Force reportedly arrived in the Czech Republic on Monday, according to local media and images shared on social media. Neither Embraer nor the Czech Ministry of Defence had formally announced the aircraft’s delivery by the time of publication.

Drone footage and photographs showed the transport aircraft at the 24th Air Transportation Base in Prague-Kbely after its first landing in the country.

The aircraft’s Czech Air Force markings appeared to be covered, which suggests the arrival may have preceded the official acceptance ceremony. Similar flights have occurred with other military aircraft before formal delivery.

The Czech Republic ordered two C-390 Millennium aircraft in 2024 under a contract valued at 11.3 billion Czech koruna, including training, logistics support and related equipment.

The twin-engine transport will complement the Czech Air Force’s fleet of Airbus C295M aircraft, offering greater payload, longer range and higher cruise speed. The C-390 can perform tactical transport, airdrop, aeromedical evacuation, aerial refueling and humanitarian missions.

The Czech Republic became one of several NATO members to select the Brazilian transport aircraft, joining Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden and Slovakia. The type has steadily expanded its presence in Europe as countries replace aging tactical transport fleets.
