The first Embraer C-390 Millennium destined for the Czech Air Force has appeared with its final camouflage scheme during preparations for delivery in Brazil.

Images released by the Czech Ministry of Defence show the aircraft painted in a three-tone grey pattern developed by Pavel Holý, an artist and researcher at the Military History Institute Prague.

According to the ministry, the aircraft is undergoing final work before its transfer flight to the Czech Republic, which is expected between late June and early July.

The aircraft, serial number 0520, will be named Brigadier General Karel Toman-Mareš, the first commander of No. 311 Czechoslovak Bomber Squadron in the Royal Air Force during World War II.

The appearance of the completed camouflage follows the aircraft's maiden flight in Brazil last month. Flight tracking data showed the aircraft, carrying the temporary registration PT-CMN, performed its first production test flight from Embraer's facility in Gavião Peixoto on May 11.

Prague signed a contract for two C-390 Millennium aircraft in October 2024 after selecting the Brazilian transport jet to replace part of its military airlift capability. The second aircraft is scheduled for delivery in 2027.

The Czech Ministry of Defence said both aircraft will carry the same camouflage pattern, differing only in their serial numbers and assigned names.

The C-390 will be used for troop and cargo transport, aeromedical evacuation, humanitarian missions, aerial refueling and firefighting operations. Czech aircraft will also be equipped to operate with the MAFFS II airborne firefighting system.

The Czech Republic is already part of the C-390 industrial supply chain through Aero Vodochody, which manufactures several structural components for the aircraft, including sections of the wing and rear fuselage.
