Textron Aviation will display a Cessna SkyCourier at the Farnborough International Airshow, where the twin-engine turboprop will be presented in a special missions configuration.

Textron has increasingly promoted the SkyCourier for military and government applications alongside its cargo and passenger variants.

Certified in 2022, the SkyCourier was developed to occupy a segment above the single-engine Cessna Caravan, with higher payload capacity and twin-engine redundancy. The aircraft entered the market with FedEx Express as its launch customer and remains heavily dependent on the cargo carrier, which accounts for most deliveries to date.

While the program has accumulated around 60 production aircraft in service, adoption outside the United States remains limited. Operators in Canada, South America and Asia have introduced the type, but the vast majority of the fleet continues to fly in its home market.

Textron offers the SkyCourier in freighter, passenger, combi and quick-change configurations. The passenger version can accommodate up to 19 occupants, allowing the aircraft to operate without requiring a flight attendant under current regulations.

In recent years, the manufacturer has also promoted the platform for military and special missions. Available equipment includes external hardpoints, additional fuel capacity, aeromedical evacuation systems and support for parachute operations.

That effort resulted in the program's first announced military customer earlier this year, when Belgium selected five aircraft for special operations missions.

The SkyCourier is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-65SC engines and features a high-wing design optimized for operations from short and unprepared runways.
