The Pentagon has awarded Lockheed Martin a sole-source, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract worth up to $1.9 billion to continue the C-130J Maintenance and Aircrew Training System (MATS) program. The agreement, announced in Orlando on April 14, runs for ten years.
The C-130J MATS IV contract enables the US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center to provide a range of aircrew and maintenance training devices and support services to C-130J operators.
The scope includes courseware, operations, logistics support, and engineering services. Under the new contract, aircrew training support will be expanded to include the US Navy Reserve and US Coast Guard, in addition to the existing US Air Mobility Command, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve Command, US Marine Corps, Air Force Special Operations Command, and Air Education and Training Command.
