JetBlue has unveiled a special version of its "Vets in Blue" Airbus A320 to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, joining other US airlines introducing commemorative liveries ahead of Independence Day celebrations on July 4.

The aircraft retains its existing tribute to US military veterans but now carries a large "250" emblem on the forward fuselage. The airline presented the updated livery this week at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in the presence of US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty.

The A320 will remain in regular commercial service across JetBlue's network while displaying the temporary markings. The airline also plans to issue a limited series of 1,776 collectible trading cards featuring the aircraft.

Beyond the aircraft itself, JetBlue announced a series of initiatives tied to the anniversary. Throughout July, passengers will see a dedicated welcome screen and a short onboard video recognizing the country's 250-year history and the contribution of US military veterans.

The airline also said employees will assemble care packages for veterans at Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals across its network during the month. The activities will be coordinated with JetBlue's internal "Vets in Blue" employee group.

Special liveries have become a common way for airlines to mark national anniversaries and other major events. In recent weeks, several US carriers have introduced commemorative aircraft ahead of the July 4 celebrations, which this year coincide with the country's semiquincentennial observances.
