Avincis, Europe's largest operator of aerial emergency services, will expand its Airbus H145 fleet after signing an agreement for up to 15 additional helicopters.
The aircraft will be introduced across the company's operations in Northern Europe, Italy and Spain, where they will perform emergency medical transport missions as well as offshore transportation flights.

Avincis operates more than 220 aircraft from bases in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Norway, Sweden and Finland and employs over 2,400 people, including pilots, crews and technicians.
The model has become one of the most common helicopters in the sector. More than 1,800 aircraft from the family are currently in service, accumulating over 8.5 million flight hours in roles ranging from medical evacuation and search-and-rescue to police and offshore transport operations.

The H145 is a twin-engine light helicopter developed by Airbus Helicopters. Originally introduced as the Eurocopter EC145, the aircraft traces its origins to the BK 117, a helicopter developed jointly by Germany's Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB) and Japan's Kawasaki.
Powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines, the H145 features Airbus' Helionix digital avionics suite and a four-axis autopilot designed to reduce pilot workload during demanding missions. Airbus also cites low noise levels and lower carbon dioxide emissions than competing helicopters in the same category.
The current-generation H145 incorporates several design changes introduced over the past decade. These include a fenestron enclosed tail rotor, which replaced the conventional tail rotor, and a five-blade main rotor system that increased useful load while reducing maintenance requirements.
