U.S.-based aircraft lessor Azorra has placed a firm order for 15 additional Embraer E195-E2 jets, increasing its total commitment to the E2 family and pushing the program beyond 500 aircraft sold.
The agreement also includes purchase rights for another 15 aircraft, giving Azorra the option to further expand its E2 portfolio in the future.

With the latest order, Azorra's firm E2 backlog rises from 39 to 54 aircraft. The lessor first committed to the program in December 2021 and has since expanded its orderbook on three separate occasions.
The deal marks a significant milestone for Embraer, whose E2 family has now accumulated more than 500 orders since its launch. The manufacturer says more than 200 E2 aircraft are currently in service with 24 airline customers worldwide.
Azorra has emerged as one of the most important leasing partners for the E2 program, helping place aircraft with airlines in regions where Embraer has sought to expand its presence. Leasing companies have played a growing role in the regional and small narrowbody market, allowing carriers to introduce new aircraft without committing to direct purchases.

The E195-E2 is the largest member of the E-Jet family and competes in a segment between traditional regional jets and larger narrowbody aircraft such as the Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX families. The aircraft has found a niche among airlines seeking additional capacity while avoiding the higher operating costs associated with larger single-aisle jets.

The latest order comes as Embraer continues to build momentum for the E2 family after several years of slower sales compared with competing Airbus and Boeing programs. While the manufacturer remains much smaller than the two industry giants, the E2 has established itself as a successor to the original E-Jets, which accumulated more than 1,800 orders.
The new Azorra order will be included in Embraer's second-quarter backlog update, scheduled to be released later this year.
