Saab and GKN Aerospace agreement builds on existing F414 maintenance capabilities and could extend Swedish technical responsibilities and export support

Negotiations include Saab C/D aircraft in light of delays in the modernization program

Aircraft will be equipped with upgraded engines and new radar and electronic warfare systems

According to the Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security Studies, Swedish fighter jets could operate anywhere in the country and rely on little support infrastructure.

The offer would involve ordering more advanced Gripen E/F fighter jets, suggested the Swedish ambassador to the country.
