Saab has secured an order for two additional GlobalEye airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft from an undisclosed customer in the Middle East, expanding the platform's presence in a region that has emerged as its main export market.
The contract is valued at SEK 10.1 billion (US$1.04 billion), with deliveries scheduled for 2030. Saab declined to identify the customer, citing national security considerations and the nature of the defense industry.
The announcement comes weeks after Saab confirmed a deal to supply GlobalEye aircraft to NATO, making the alliance the latest operator of the surveillance platform.
The United Arab Emirates remains the only publicly identified customer in the Middle East, operating the Bombardier Global 6000-based system since 2020. Saab has also offered the aircraft to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt, all of which have sought to expand their airborne surveillance capabilities in recent years.

GlobalEye combines the Erieye ER radar with additional sensors that detect and track airborne, maritime and ground targets. The system provides early warning, command-and-control and surveillance functions over long distances while supporting air, naval and land operations from a single platform.
Saab did not disclose whether the latest order came from an existing operator or a first-time customer. The company also provided no details on the aircraft configuration or associated support package.
