Philippine Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus for nine additional A350-1000 aircraft, one day after announcing an order for Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners at the Farnborough International Airshow.
The agreement will raise the airline's A350-1000 commitment to 18 aircraft once finalized. Airbus has already delivered the first two jets.

The latest order confirms reports from last week that Philippine Airlines planned to expand its A350-1000 fleet. The aircraft will serve the carrier's long-haul network, particularly nonstop routes between Manila and destinations on the U.S. and Canadian East Coast.
"The A350-1000 will continue to define the future of our international operations for many years to come," PAL Holdings President and Chief Operating Officer Lucio C. Tan III said.

Philippine Airlines configured its A350-1000 with 382 seats in three classes, including 42 business class suites, 24 premium economy seats and 316 economy seats.
“We are proud that PAL is strongly expanding its A350-1000 flagship fleet, flying the flag of the Philippines across the world,” said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry.
