A LATAM Airlines Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was damaged at Easter Island's Mataveri International Airport on May 29 after one of its passenger doors was torn from the aircraft during ground operations.
The aircraft involved, registered CC-BBD, had arrived from Santiago, Chile, operating flight LA841.
Images from the airport show the aircraft missing its L2 passenger door, located on the left side of the fuselage between the forward passenger cabin and the wing. No injuries were reported.
The circumstances that led to the damage have not been officially disclosed. LATAM has not provided details about the sequence of events, while Chilean authorities have yet to release preliminary findings from any investigation.

The incident occurred after the aircraft had completed its flight from Santiago and was parked on the ground at Mataveri Airport, the world's most remote commercial airport, located about 3,700 km west of mainland Chile.
The damage left the aircraft unable to continue operations from Easter Island. LATAM has not disclosed how long the Boeing 787 is expected to remain out of service or what repairs may be required before it can return to flight.
CC-BBD is a 12-year-old Boeing 787-8 delivered to LATAM in 2014. The aircraft is part of the carrier's long-haul fleet and is regularly used on services linking Santiago with destinations across the Pacific and the Americas.
