Embraer has added FL Technics to its network of authorized service centers for commercial aircraft in Europe. The authorization covers the company's facilities in Vilnius and Kaunas, Lithuania, for support of first-generation E170 and E190 jets.

The Embraer Authorized Service Center designation expands a relationship that began with line maintenance services for E-Jets in 2023. FL Technics currently provides this support at nine European airports: Vilnius and Palanga in Lithuania, five stations in Norway and two in Romania.

FL Technics already had regulatory approval to perform heavy maintenance on E170 and E190 aircraft. The company received EASA Part-145 approval for the type in March 2025. Part-145 sets the European regulatory requirements for organizations that maintain aircraft and components.

The Lithuanian company operates maintenance hangars in Lithuania, the United Kingdom, Indonesia and the Dominican Republic and is part of Avia Solutions Group.

E-Jet fleets around the Baltic region

No Lithuanian airline currently operates E-Jets, but the new facilities can support operators elsewhere in northern and eastern Europe.

Finnair operates 12 E190s through its regional partner Norra, which makes Finland one of the most relevant nearby markets for the newly authorized facilities. The aircraft are among the oldest in the Finnish carrier's fleet, with an average age of nearly 18 years as of early 2026.

Finnair also plans to renew its regional fleet. The airline placed an order for 18 E195-E2s in March, with options for 16 additional aircraft and purchase rights for another 12. The new FL Technics authorization, however, applies only to first-generation E170 and E190 aircraft and does not cover the E2 family.

Poland has an even larger concentration of Embraer aircraft. LOT Polish Airlines operates E170, E175, E190 and E195 jets as well as the newer E195-E2, although its fleet already has support from a major authorized maintenance provider in the country.

European support network

LOT Aircraft Maintenance Services, or LOTAMS, has been an Embraer Authorized Service Center for first-generation E-Jets since 2012. In 2025, it also became the first independent Embraer Authorized Service Center in Europe approved to perform heavy maintenance on E190-E2 and E195-E2 aircraft.

Portugal-based OGMA, which is controlled by Embraer, also provides heavy maintenance for both generations of E-Jets in Europe.

The addition of FL Technics gives Embraer another authorized maintenance location in the northern part of the continent, alongside the established facilities in Poland and Portugal.

FL Technics has previously indicated plans to develop maintenance capabilities for the E2 family, but the authorization announced this week is limited to E170 and E190 aircraft.
