Binter Canarias has ordered five additional Embraer E195-E2 jets, expanding a fleet that has become the backbone of its mainland Spain network and reinforcing one of the Brazilian manufacturer's longest-running E2 customers.
The agreement, announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, also includes purchase rights for four more aircraft. Embraer said the order will be included in its third-quarter backlog.

The Canary Islands-based airline currently operates 16 E195-E2s alongside a fleet of 26 ATR 72 turboprops. Its E-Jets are configured with 132 seats in a single-class layout, while the ATRs serve shorter regional routes within the archipelago and nearby destinations.
Binter became one of the launch operators of the E195-E2 after taking delivery of its first aircraft in December 2019. The 16th and most recent jet joined the fleet in April 2025.
The introduction of the E195-E2 enabled the carrier to expand beyond its traditional regional network by opening longer nonstop routes linking the Canary Islands with cities across mainland Spain, including Madrid.

The E195-E2 is the largest member of Embraer's E-Jets E2 family and is powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1900G geared turbofan engines. The aircraft entered commercial service in 2019 and has become Embraer's flagship regional jet for airlines seeking to replace older narrowbodies or expand service on lower-demand routes.
