Abra Group, the parent company of GOL and Avianca, has signed an agreement with Embraer to acquire up to 45 E195-E2 regional jets, confirming reports that the airline group planned to add the Brazilian aircraft to its fleet.
The agreement covers 20 firm aircraft, 10 purchase options and 15 purchase rights. Deliveries of the first aircraft are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, subject to the completion of the deal.

Abra did not disclose how the first 20 aircraft will be allocated among its airlines.
GOL is expected to receive part of the initial batch after years of negotiations with Embraer over the E2 family. The aircraft will give the airline access to markets already served by Azul, the launch customer for the E195-E2 with more than 40 aircraft in service since 2019. LATAM is also set to introduce the type later this year.
The E195-E2 also marks a shift in GOL's fleet strategy under Abra. After operating an all-Boeing 737 fleet for more than two decades, the airline group has started moving toward a mixed fleet model with the addition of Airbus A330-900neos for long-haul operations and now the E195-E2 for regional and lower-demand routes that are not economically viable with the larger 737.
"The E195-E2 will provide Abra with flexibility to pursue new opportunities as part of our disciplined approach to fleet deployment," Abra Group CEO Adrian Neuhauser said.
The order will be added to Embraer's backlog once all contractual conditions are met. Abra Group operates more than 300 aircraft through Avianca, GOL and Wamos Air, while also holding a minority stake in Chilean carrier Sky Airline.
