Hawaiian Airlines officially joined the oneworld on Tuesday, becoming the alliance’s 15th member and expanding its network across Hawaii, the U.S. mainland, Asia and the South Pacific.

The move marks Hawaiian’s first participation in a global airline alliance and follows its acquisition by Alaska Airlines, which joined oneworld in 2021. Both carriers are now part of Alaska Air Group following the merger completed last year.

Hawaiian operates around 230 daily flights and carried more than 11 million passengers in 2025, with a network centered on inter-island routes and long-haul services linking Hawaii to destinations in North America, Asia and Oceania.

Through the alliance, Hawaiian customers will gain access to nearly 1,000 destinations in more than 170 countries served by oneworld carriers including American Airlines, British Airways, Japan Airlines, Qantas and Cathay Pacific.

Members of the combined Alaska-Hawaiian loyalty program, Atmos Rewards, can now earn and redeem miles across all oneworld airlines, while elite members gain reciprocal benefits such as lounge access, priority boarding and additional baggage allowances.

For oneworld, Hawaiian strengthens its presence in the Pacific at a time when airlines continue to expand partnerships rather than launch new long-haul routes independently, particularly in leisure-heavy markets.

The integration also gives Alaska Air Group wider international reach without operating its own long-haul global network, while Hawaiian gains access to corporate and connecting traffic flows that were previously dominated by larger alliance carriers.
