Eve Air Mobility, Embraer's urban air mobility subsidiary, plans to begin commercial operations of its "flying car" (eVTOL) by the end of 2028, according to Francisco Gomes Neto, CEO of the parent company, during the presentation of the second quarter 2026 financial results.
This forecast is the first public indication of a timeline since the companies stopped mentioning a specific date for the entry into service of their electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.

In recent years, Eve had been working with the expectation of starting operations in 2026. Later, the forecast was postponed to 2027, but the company stopped citing a new deadline in its official statements while it advanced in the development and certification campaign for the aircraft.
According to Gomes Neto, Brazil and the United States are expected to receive the eVTOL at practically the same time, rather than one market serving as the exclusive launch for the program.
Production will be concentrated at the Taubaté plant, where Eve is preparing a line with capacity to assembly up to 480 aircraft per year. The executive stated that opening new industrial units will depend on the evolution of global demand.
Eve has accumulated approximately 3,000 letters of intent and firm orders announced by operators in several countries, although these orders remain subject to aircraft certification and the start of serial production.
The Embraer subsidiary continues to develop the certification program in partnership with aviation authorities such as Brazil's ANAC and is also working on the necessary infrastructure for eVTOL operations, including support services, urban air traffic management software, and solutions for operators.
