The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) has cancelled the 2026 edition of EBACE, the largest business aviation event in Europe, citing insufficient market momentum to sustain the show.

The event had been scheduled to take place in Geneva from June 2 to 4. The decision was announced on April 10, less than two months before the planned opening.

According to EBAA, recent efforts to reshape the event—including changes introduced for the 2025 edition and further adjustments planned for 2026—failed to secure the level of participation needed to make the show viable. Planned updates for this year included the return of the static aircraft display, new networking areas and a revised cost structure for exhibitors and attendees.

The association said cancelling the event allows it to focus resources on its core activities, including industry advocacy and engagement with regulators and policymakers.

Chief executive Stefan Benz said the decision was taken to limit further impact on exhibitors and partners who had already committed to the event. EBAA chairman Juergen Wiese added that the format of the show must align with what the market “genuinely needs and values”.

The cancellation comes after several years of disruption for EBACE. The show lost momentum following the pandemic, and its format has been under pressure as participation patterns changed and competing events gained relevance.

Industry observers have also pointed to specific setbacks. In 2023, environmental protesters breached the static display area in Geneva, affecting the event’s image. The following year, the U.S.-based National Business Aviation Association withdrew from its long-standing role as co-organizer.

The 2025 edition was held in a reduced format without a static display, while organizers had planned to restore the aircraft exhibition in 2026 alongside changes that could include rotating the event across different European cities.

The late cancellation is expected to affect exhibitors that had already allocated resources to attend. EBAA has not indicated whether EBACE will return in future editions.
