Azorra has acquired an Airbus A220-300 orderbook from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), adding eight aircraft to its portfolio.

The transaction includes two A220-300s already on lease to TAAG Angola Airlines, while the remaining six units are scheduled for delivery in 2027 and 2028. With the deal, Azorra’s total commitments for the type reach 15 aircraft.

Azorra has been building a portfolio centered on aircraft with up to around 160 seats, a segment smaller than the mainline narrowbody market but one that has been gaining space among airlines seeking lower-capacity, more flexible operations.

Despite the additional commitments, the A220 program has faced production constraints, in part linked to issues with Pratt & Whitney geared turbofan engines.

The situation has affected output not only for the A220 but also for other programs such as the Embraer E2 family and the Airbus A320neo, as engine availability has been redirected toward inspection and overhaul work.

Azorra said the aircraft will be placed with airline customers globally, without identifying specific operators for the future deliveries.

The lessor said it currently owns and manages a fleet of 309 aircraft and engines, including assets already in service as well as committed units on order.
