American Airlines has reached a major milestone by taking delivery of its 1,000th mainline aircraft. The landmark jet, a Boeing 787-9 featuring the new Flagship Suite premium cabin, arrived at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on August 29.

Since April, the airline has received eight new 787-9s with Flagship Suite, out of a total of 30 on order. These aircraft currently serve routes from Chicago (ORD) to London Heathrow (LHR), ORD to Los Angeles (LAX), and Philadelphia (PHL) to LHR.

With additional deliveries, American will expand the Flagship Suite experience on more London-bound flights next year, including the new DFW–LHR service in November. The premium product offers private suites with doors, wireless charging pads, an exclusive chaise longue, luxury amenity kits, and chef-inspired dining.

In the coming months, the 787-9 will also be deployed on long-haul routes such as DFW–Auckland (AKL), DFW–Brisbane (BNE), DFW–Buenos Aires (EZE), and PHL–Zurich (ZRH).
