Azorra said it has delivered an ATR 72-600 to Air Moana, a regional airline based in Tahiti, French Polynesia. The aircraft's delivery date was not revealed, but as of the end of March it was based in Toulouse, France.
The turboprop, manufacturer serial number 1553, previously flew for U.S. regional carrier Silver Airways between January 2020 and April 2025. It first flew in August 2019 before entering service in the United States. Silver Airways later ceased operations.
Azorra said the delivery brings Air Moana’s fleet to three ATR 72-600s. However, fleet records indicate the airline already operates three aircraft—registered F-OORA, F-ORMT, and F-ORMU—without including MSN 1553. This suggests the newly delivered turboprop may replace an existing unit or that one aircraft has been withdrawn from service.
Air Moana launched operations in 2023 and focuses on inter-island routes within French Polynesia, including destinations such as Bora Bora, Moorea, and Huahine. The airline operates exclusively with ATR 72-600 turboprops configured for short-haul sectors and airports with limited infrastructure.
“This aircraft is a strategic addition to our growing fleet and a key milestone for Air Moana, enabling us to better serve communities across our islands with greater reliability and efficiency. The ATR 72-600 is ideally suited to our network, and we thank Azorra for their partnership as we continue to expend operations across French Polynesia,” said Raitini Rey, VP Operations of Air Moana.
