Aegean Airlines announced on Thursday has ordered two Airbus A321XLR that will be delivered between December 2025 and January 2026 and used on India routes.

Aircraft with range of up to 4,700 nm (8,700 km) will take flights from March 2026 from Athens to Mumbai and New Deli.

With the new planes, the A320neo family fleet will reach 60 aircraft, the airline said. Aegean also has 21 A320neo ordered and delivered, 33 A321neo, of which 15 will be delivered until July, in addition to four A321LR and the two A321XLR

The two new Airbus will be configured with only 138 seats, 24 of them in the executive class, equipped with Fully Lie-Flat Beds. AEGEAN also said that all seats have 4K, satellite Wi-Fi, USB and device load ports, also present in the A321LR.

The new flights will start in March with five weekly frequencies for New Deli to which three weekly flights to Mumbai will be added from May.

The four A321LR fleet, scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2028, will allow the airline to launch new Bangalore routes in India, Seychelles, Maldives, Nairobi, Almaty and Lagos.

“The addition of these two A321neo XLR aircraft with special configuration, which will be delivered in 2025, in addition to the four A321neo LRs that we plan to take delivery in 2027 and 2028, accelerates our access to the extremely important Indian market, but also allows for the immediate upgrade of our product and services to destinations outside the EU, ” said Eftichios Vassilakis, Aegean Chairman.
