Turkish Airlines has announced changes to its executive leadership, including a new chairman and CEO as part of a restructuring of its management.
Prof. Murat Şeker, who has served as the airline’s chief financial officer since 2016, has been appointed chairman of the board and of the executive committee. He has also been a member of both bodies since 2021. His responsibilities at the carrier have included financing, treasury, accounting, procurement and investor relations.
Şeker previously worked at the World Bank between 2008 and 2013, focusing on economic policy and development, and later held a senior role at Ziraat Bank, overseeing international funding and investor relations. He has also served on the boards of Turkish Technic and SunExpress, and has been involved with IATA’s Financial Advisory Council, which he has chaired since 2025.

Ahmet Olmuştur, currently chief commercial officer, has been appointed chief executive officer of Turkish Airlines. He has spent his entire career at the airline, joining in 2000 at its call center before moving into revenue management and later senior leadership roles.

Over the years, Olmuştur has held positions including flight analyst, head of global distribution systems, and senior vice president of revenue management. He became chief marketing and sales officer in 2014 and was appointed chief commercial officer in 2024, overseeing the airline’s commercial strategy.

His experience covers network planning, pricing, sales, customer experience and the Miles&Smiles loyalty program. He also holds board and advisory roles within Turkish Technic, SunExpress and IATA-related bodies.
The company did not provide details on the departure or reassignment of the previous CEO in the statement.
