In addition to Republic Airways, the Energia Advisory Group also includes Air New Zealand and Ruili Airlines.

Announced by Embraer in November 2021, the Energia program explores a series of aircraft concepts with alternative low or even zero emission powertrain systems. These are planes with capacity for up to 50 passengers propelled by electric motors, hydrogen or sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The arrival of these technologies will be gradual, starting in the next decade and extending until 2050, when the manufacturer hopes to be carbon neutral.

Republic Airways is one of the largest operators of Embraer E-Jets in the world, with 221 aircraft currently serving airlines such as American, United and Delta.
