JetBlue has unveiled BlueFirst as the name of its new domestic first-class product, marking the first time the airline will offer a conventional premium cabin across aircraft that do not feature its Mint lie-flat suites.
BlueFirst will begin entering service later this year, although JetBlue has not announced a launch date or the first routes that will receive the new cabin.

The airline also confirmed it will sell three fare types within BlueFirst: Base, Standard and Flex. The move places JetBlue alongside Delta Air Lines and United Airlines in offering an unbundled basic fare for domestic first class.
Passengers buying the Base fare will not receive complimentary seat selection and will pay a fee to change their booking. Standard and Flex fares include seat selection and waive change fees, while Flex also offers refunds to the original form of payment on eligible cancellations.
BlueFirst will complement, rather than replace, Mint. JetBlue introduced Mint in 2014 for premium transcontinental and international routes using aircraft equipped with lie-flat seats. The new cabin will instead be installed on aircraft that do not operate with the airline's flagship premium product.

The announcement also includes changes to JetBlue's fare structure. Core will be renamed Main, and the airline will reorganize its booking process around four onboard products: Main, EvenMore, BlueFirst and Mint. EvenMore, the carrier's extra-legroom economy section, will also gain a new Base fare.
