ITA Airways will debut its first Airbus A321neo between Rome and London on December 1

Aircraft is configured with three classes of service with just 165 seats. Flight will be daily between Fiumicino and Heathrow airports

ITA Airways will put its first Airbus A321neo into service on Friday, December 1st. The chosen route will connect Rome (Fiumicino) and London (Heathrow) daily.

Departures from the Italian capital take place at 2:00 pm with arrival in London at 4:30 pm. The return flight departs at 5:00 pm, landing in Rome at 9:00 pm.

The carrier will also put the aircraft on the route to Paris between December 22 and January 9, with three daily frequencies.

The Rome-Tel Aviv flight, scheduled to receive the A321neo, was postponed due to the geopolitical situation in Israel.

ITA Airways received its first A321neo on November 10 and is expected to take delivery of at least two aircraft of the type in the coming weeks.

Although the A321neo can carry up to 244 passengers in a single class, the flag carrier preferred to configure its cabin with three classes and just 165 seats.

The aircraft offers 12 reclining seats with a full lie-flat bed configuration in Business Class, another 12 seats in Premium Economy and 141 in Economy (12 of them in the Comfort Economy subclass, with more legroom).

Although it will begin its career in Europe, ITA’s A321neo is expected to take on routes to more distant destinations in Africa and the Middle East.
