Greek charter airline Lumiwings put into service in recent weeks an Embraer E195 leased from Azorra Aviation.

The aircraft joins a Boeing 737-300 and a 737-700 that form the company’s fleet.

According to Lumiwings, the jet started flying from Foggia, Italy, to Milan (Malpensa) and Turin.

The E195 with registration SX-LWD is an aircraft that flew for almost 12 years with Azul Linhas Aéreas.

The 118-seat jet with registration number PR-AYO was delivered to the Brazilian airline in December 2010 and was painted in pink tones for some time as part of Azul’s breast cancer campaign.

In June 2020, the carrier decided to use it in the “Preighter” standard, a quick conversion for parcel transport, taking advantage of the peak in e-commerce demand during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The process, quite simple, maintains the characteristics of a passenger aircraft and can be quickly reversed.

On August 28, 2022, the E195 was removed from service and stored for a year until returned to Azorra.
