Boeing delivered 51 commercial aircraft in August, taking its total for the first eight months of 2026 to 418 aircraft, its highest tally for the period since 2018.
The August total comprised 42 aircraft from the 737 family, including 41 737 MAX jets and one 737 NG, as well as four 787 Dreamliners, three 767s and two 777 freighters.

Deliveries were slightly lower than the 57 aircraft handed over in August 2025. Boeing also delivered fewer aircraft than in July 2026, with the decline partly associated with the smaller number of 787 handovers during the month.
Southwest Airlines received nine 737 MAX aircraft in August, according to Dow Jones, making it one of the largest identified recipients of Boeing narrowbody aircraft during the month.
Through the end of August, Boeing had delivered 418 aircraft in 2026. The total included 324 737s, of which 320 were MAX variants and four were NG aircraft, alongside 54 787s, 22 767s and 18 777s.
Orders slow in August
Boeing booked 15 gross orders during August, consisting of 13 787s and two 737 MAX aircraft. The manufacturer recorded no cancellations during the month, leaving the same figure of 15 net orders.
The company had accumulated 453 net orders for the year through August. Its commercial aircraft backlog stood at 6,156 aircraft at the end of the month.
