Boeing delivered 51 commercial aircraft in August, taking its total for the first eight months of 2026 to 418 aircraft, its highest tally for the period since 2018.
The August total comprised 41 737 MAX jets, four 787 Dreamliners, three 767s, two 777 freighters and one 737-800A (P-8A Poseidon) maritime patrol aircraft for the US Navy.
United Airlines and Southwest Airlines were the largest recipients during the month. Southwest took nine 737 MAX aircraft, while United received eight, meaning the two US carriers accounted for 17 of the 41 MAX deliveries.
AerCap received another five 737 MAX jets and one 787-9, while VietJet Air took four MAX aircraft and Akasa Air received three. Aviation Capital Group, CDB Leasing and Dubai Aerospace Enterprise each received two MAX jets. Virgin Australia also took two aircraft.
Other MAX recipients included flydubai, Luxair and Minsheng Financial Leasing, with one aircraft each.

Boeing delivered four 787s during August. In addition to AerCap's aircraft, Air India and Lufthansa each received a 787-9, while Japan's All Nippon Airways took a 787-10.
Two 777Fs were handed over during the month, one each to Emirates and National Airlines. UPS received two 767-300Fs.
The remaining aircraft was a 737-800A (P-8A Poseidon) delivered to the US Navy. A 767-2C (KC-46A Pegasus) was also delivered to the US Air Force, accounting for the third 767-family delivery in August.
Deliveries were below the 57 aircraft handed over in August 2025. Through the end of August, Boeing had delivered 418 aircraft in 2026, including 324 737s, 54 787s, 22 767s and 18 777s.
Orders concentrated on 787
Boeing booked 15 gross orders in August, all attributed to unidentified customers. The total included only two 737 MAX aircraft, with the remaining 13 orders covering three Dreamliner variants.
The widebody orders consisted of 11 787-9s and two 787-10s. Of the 787-9 orders, one aircraft was listed with GE engines and 10 without an engine selection, while both 787-10s were listed with GE engines.

Boeing's unfilled order book stood at 6,755 aircraft at the end of August. The 737 MAX accounted for 4,778 aircraft, or about 71% of the total backlog.
The 787 family represented another 1,163 aircraft, comprising 734 787-9s, 404 787-10s and 25 787-8s. Boeing also had 657 unfilled orders for the 777X and 38 for the 777F at the end of August.
