ATR delivers first turboprop of 2024 to SKY Express

Aircraft belongs to the lessor Abelo, which ordered 30 ATR 72-600

ATR delivered the first ATR 72-600 from the lessor Abelo, which was also the first aircraft delivered in 2024.

The ATR 72-600 will be operated by SKY Express of Greece and was shipped on January 15, according to the company.

A lessor focused on turboprop aircraft, Abelo has 30 firm orders for the ATR 72. The Irish-based company claims to have 60 aircraft in its portfolio, leased to 15 customers.

SKY Express had received an ATR 72-600 directly from ATR in December and with the Abelo aircraft, registered SX-TWR, it reached a fleet of 10 ATR 72 turboprops, in addition to four ATR 42s.

“As we continue to grow our regional fleet, we are pleased to operate the youngest ATR fleet in the region and have commitments to further standardization and fleet improvement beginning in the first quarter of 2024,” said Captain Konstantinos Iliakis, CEO of SKY Express, in December.
