FLYONE Armenia has placed a firm order for two Airbus A321neo aircraft, becoming a direct Airbus customer as the privately owned airline expands rapidly from its Yerevan base.
The agreement announced on Wednesday converts a memorandum of understanding signed in May during French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Armenia.
Both aircraft will be configured with 239 seats in a single-class layout and powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines. Airbus did not disclose delivery dates or the value of the order.
The A321neos will be the first new aircraft purchased directly from Airbus by FLYONE Armenia, which began operations in late 2021 and has since become the country's largest airline.

FLYONE Armenia is not a state-owned flag carrier. Its shareholders include Moldovan airline FLYONE and Armenian investors Eduard Sukiasyan and Aram Khachatryan, who is also the airline's chief executive.
The Armenian carrier is part of a wider FLYONE group that has operations in Moldova, Romania and Uzbekistan.
Older Airbus fleet
FLYONE Armenia already operates A320 Family aircraft, including previous-generation A320s and A321s.
Planespotters currently lists nine aircraft with the carrier, comprising seven A320s and two A321s, with an average age of almost 18 years. Airbus said in announcing the new order that the airline currently operates 11 A320 Family aircraft.
The difference reflects a fleet that also uses aircraft sourced through the wider FLYONE operation. FLYONE Armenia said earlier this year that it expected to have 11 owned aircraft and 15 aircraft in operation during 2026.
The two new A321neos will give the airline 239 seats per flight, close to the maximum-density configuration available for the type and suited to its low-cost operation.
FLYONE Armenia has expanded well beyond the network it launched five years ago. Its routes now cover around 30 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Russia and other former Soviet states.
During 2026, the airline added destinations including Alicante, Almaty, Batumi, Kazan, Samara, Tashkent and Dushanbe. Flights between Yerevan and Belgrade are scheduled to begin in December.
Growth has also come through additional frequencies on established routes. During the 2026 summer season, FLYONE Armenia increased service from Yerevan to Rome, Larnaca, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi.
Moscow is one of its largest markets. At the summer peak, the airline scheduled as many as 21 weekly flights to Domodedovo and another 21 to Vnukovo.
