Airbus has secured a firm order for 75 A320neo Family aircraft from Aviation Capital Group (ACG), adding another large commitment to a narrowbody program whose available delivery positions extend years into the future.

The agreement announced on October 16 is the largest aircraft order in the nearly 40-year history of the US-based lessor and increases its historical orders for A320neo Family aircraft to 190.

Airbus and ACG did not disclose the split between A320neo and A321neo aircraft or the financial value of the transaction.

The manufacturer said the new order will allow ACG to offer A320neo Family aircraft to airline customers "well into the next decade," highlighting the increasingly long planning horizon required to secure new narrowbody aircraft.

ACG follows a strategy centered on acquiring new-generation narrowbody aircraft and leasing them to airlines. As of June 30, the company had 504 owned, managed and committed aircraft.

The lessor already has substantial exposure to Airbus narrowbodies. At the end of 2025, its portfolio included 58 owned A320neos and 61 A321neos, in addition to aircraft scheduled for future delivery.

ACG also placed a major order with Boeing earlier this year. In January, it finalized an agreement for 50 737 MAX aircraft, comprising 25 737 MAX 8s and 25 737 MAX 10s, scheduled for delivery in 2032 and 2033.

The new Airbus agreement illustrates how aircraft lessors are securing production positions far ahead of expected deliveries as airlines compete for limited supplies of new-generation narrowbody jets.

As of the end of September, Airbus had recorded 12,329 firm orders for the A320neo Family and delivered around 4,800 aircraft, leaving approximately 7,529 jets still to be handed over to customers.

Airbus has accumulated more than 20,400 orders for the A320 Family since the program was launched. The manufacturer is increasing production of the A320neo Family but continues to face supply-chain constraints as it works through a large order backlog.
