Airbus secured 11 commercial aircraft orders in April

Airbus recorded 11 orders for commercial aircraft in April, including 10 A350-1000s for China Airlines and one A321neo for an undisclosed customer, but which is listed in the records as ordered by KLM.

However, there were movements in the order book with Shenzen Airlines and Indigo converting 14 A320neo orders to A321neo.

Orders from unidentified customers in March also had their buyers revealed.

United Airlines had ordered 40 A321neos while China Airlines was already listed as unnamed in its agreement for 10 A350-1000s.

Flynas, on the other hand, ordered six A320neos while lessor CMB Financial Leasing wrote off the same number of aircraft.

BOC Aviation reportedly transferred one A320neo to Chile’s JetSmart while China’s West Air increased its A319neo orders by one aircraft.

At the same time, Airbus reduced its total orders from undisclosed customers from 15 to 14 aircraft.

So far this year, Airbus has recorded a total of 291 gross orders, but 215 net thanks to 76 aircraft cancellations.

The backlog through April reached 8,681 commercial aircraft.
