Embraer and ST Engineering deepen strategic partnership on the C-390 Millennium jet

New stage occurs after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding at the Singapore Airshow and aims to expand joint operations in the Asia-Pacific region and also in South America

Embraer Defense & Security and ST Engineering announced on Thursday, an agreement to intensify their strategic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and South America.

The cooperation comes weeks after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Singapore Airshow 2024 in February and aims to explore collaboration opportunities in several areas, including engineering, maintenance, support and development of products and services.

The partnership between Embraer Defense & Security and ST Engineering aims to capitalize on the distinct capabilities of both companies in the defense and security sector.

Among the main points of collaboration are the joint development of solutions for the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft, as well as cooperation in radars and ground systems, border security, simulation and advanced production methods.

“We identified strong synergies between ST Engineering’s capabilities in defense and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) and Embraer Defense & Security’s complete line of integrated solutions,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President & CEO of Embraer Defense & Security. “We look forward to fostering stronger ties between the companies and expanding our customer base in the region, building on the significant interest that the C-390 Millennium generated during the Singapore Airshow.”

The C-390 Millennium is the largest and most complex aircraft developed by Embraer, capable of carrying a payload of up to 26 tons at a speed of up to 470 knots and extended range.

The aircraft has already been selected by several countries, including South Korea, the Czech Republic, Austria, the Netherlands, Portugal and Brazil.

In turn, ST Engineering has experience in defense systems, ranging from aircraft engineering to the construction of mobility platforms and mission-proven combat systems.

As an authorized service center for various manufacturers, ST Engineering provides comprehensive maintenance and modernization solutions for global customers.
