First ITA Airways A350 gets livery

Airbus aircraft is part of leasing agreements closed by the new Italian carrier

ITA Airways’ first Airbus A350-900 had its livery finished in recent days, as spotter images revealed this week. The Italian carrier released a video on Friday that shows the application of its layout on the widebody, which should debut on its routes in 2022.

According to reports, the first A350 is the MSN 270 aircraft, which was at the Airbus plant in Toulouse and was originally going to be delivered to Hong Kong Airlines.

In its plan to renew and expand its aircraft fleet, ITA Airways chose to enter into leasing agreements for the A350, which will be its most advanced long-haul jet.

For this, the airline leased four aircraft from the Kuwait company ALAFCO, and eight from the Air Lease Corporation (ALC), of which the A350 MSN 270 belongs.

The Airbus A350s will be used on long-haul routes such as Los Angeles, Buenos Aires (Argentina) and São Paulo (Brazil), starting in June.

ITA Airways will configure the A350-900 with two classes, with 33 seats in business and 301 seats in economy.

In addition to the A350s, the Italian airline also has a firm order of 28 aircraft with Airbus, with seven A220-100, 11 A320neo and ten A330-900neo.
